crown of life

"Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am in distress; my eyes grow weak with sorrow, my soul and body with grief." Psalm 31:9

On Saturday August 6, 2011 at 9:04 pm, Meg Stewart left this earth full of pain to join her Creator in heaven.  Saturday started off with a big blessing - we had our wedding shower at Devin's church.  Let me tell you, those ladies knew that we needed something special, something to lift our spirits, and it was obvious as soon as we walked in the front door of the church.  They turned the church foyer into "Stewart's Coffee", recreating our first date, which was at the Underground Coffee house in Searcy, AR.  The Underground was a definite college hangout, full of old couches and chairs, with lots of board games and different kinds of coffee.  Only pictures can truly show just how much time and effort these precious hostesses spent on decorating and making our shower so incredibly special.  We opened many gifts and got to talk with dear friends.

When we arrived home, we knew that Meg wasn't doing very well.  Her pain was at a constant 8 and it was evident.  It broke our hearts (lots of family and friends were at the house all day) to see her in so much pain.  At 9:04 pm that evening, my sweet mother-in-love went on to be with our Savior.  Once friends arrived, we all gathered in the kitchen and dining room to sing songs and pray, giving thanks for the incredible life she lived and for the peace of knowing she was no longer in pain, but with God in her heavenly body.

Please keep the Stewart family in your prayers.  This is a hard time because we all miss her so much, but we have peace and hope in Christ that we will be reunited someday.  There will be a memorial service for Meg, probably Thursday evening sometime, to celebrate her life.

I just want to say thank you to all of those who have sent messages, called, emailed, wrote letters, sent flowers, or given hugs.  It has meant so much to me.  I am blessed with the support of amazing family and friends, who not only love and care about me, but also love and care about my precious fiance and his family.

"Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him." James 1:12
